UK and Germany deepen defence industrial ties at Lancaster House

The Ministry of Defence announced that the UK and Germany have strengthened their defence-industrial cooperation following talks at Lancaster House. The discussions build on the Trinity House Agreement and the Kensington Treaty, focusing on joint capability programmes and industrial priorities.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the UK and Germany held talks at Lancaster House to strengthen their defence-industrial cooperation. The meeting brought together government officials and industry leaders to review progress on joint defence capability programmes. These discussions build on previous agreements, including the Trinity House Agreement signed in October 2024 and the Kensington Treaty signed in July 2025.

Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry Luke Pollard MP spoke about the partnership during the event. He said: "Germany is one of our closest and most valued defence partners, and today's talks demonstrate our determination to turn that ambition into real capability for our armed forces and real opportunity for our defence industries." The talks included a review of industrial priorities with industry leaders, with both nations aiming to align their strategic goals.

A joint initiative called Deep Precision Strike was highlighted as a key area of collaboration, aiming to develop long-range strike capability. The UK and Germany also agreed to establish a new Counter-Hybrid Partnership during a recent visit to Berlin on 8 October. A panel discussion took place at the German Embassy in London following the main meeting, providing a platform for further dialogue between stakeholders.
