Department for Work and Pensions announced that Nottingham has held its first Youth Guarantee Jobs Fair. The event took place at Notts County Football Club's Meadow Lane Stadium, bringing together employers from retail, manufacturing, hospitality, and healthcare sectors. Minister for Employment Andrew Western stated: "Hundreds of young people are taking their first step into employment at our Youth Guarantee Jobs Fairs, meeting employers with live vacancies and securing interviews on the spot."

Figures published with the announcement show that 770 young people attended the fair, where 600 vacancies were on offer across 65 highlighted businesses. Workshops were part of the programme, including a session where Google assisted jobseekers in using AI for CVs and interviews. Similar events have already taken place in Blackpool, Glasgow, Cardiff, London, and Leeds.

The government aims to offer young people under 25 pathways into employment, education, apprenticeships, or work experience. This support package is backed by £2.5 billion and is designed to support almost one million young people. The plans include creating 500,000 opportunities, with 1,000 young people moving into jobs, work experiences or training opportunities as a result of the current initiatives.
