The scheme covers a range of improvements, including paving repairs, street furniture, lighting, planting, CCTV, parklets, and placemaking. The council is contributing £90,000 to the project. Work is expected to be completed in 2028. Minister Lyons said: "This underlines my department's ongoing commitment to supporting the regeneration and revitalisation of our towns and city centres."

The announcement was published on 23 October 2026. The funding applies specifically to the five towns listed under the scheme. No further limits or conditions were stated.
