Department for Work and Pensions says a new Youth Hub in Exeter is set to open, offering expanded employment and support services. The hub is located at St James Park, Stadium Way, Exeter EX4 6PX, and will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It brings together Jobcentre Plus, local authority services, employers, and training providers to deliver a range of support.
It says the hub provides CV advice, skills training, mental health support, housing advice, and careers guidance. The service targets young people aged 16 to 24. Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden says: "This new Youth Hub marks a major step forward for young people in Exeter, delivering real support and opportunity right here in the community."
It says the government is investing £2.5 billion to ensure young people have the opportunity to earn or learn. Further Youth Hubs will roll out across Great Britain as part of the Government’s Youth Guarantee. The hub will work with local partners including Exeter City Community Trust, Exeter College, Co-Labs, Young Devon, and YMCA.
The announcement does not state a specific opening date for the Exeter Youth Hub. It also does not provide details on how young people can book appointments or the specific hours of operation beyond the days it will be open.
