New Youth Hub opens in West Dunbartonshire

Department for Work and Pensions has announced a new Youth Hub for West Dunbartonshire. The facility provides employment and support services to young people aged 16 to 24.

Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed that a new Youth Hub is set to open in West Dunbartonshire. The facility is designed to provide employment and support services specifically for young people aged 16 to 24. Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden stated: "This new Youth Hub marks a major step forward for young people in West Dunbartonshire, delivering real support and opportunity right here in the community."

The hub will be located at Tullochan, 9 Poplar Street, Dumbarton, G82 2RD, and will operate from Tuesday to Friday. Services include CV advice, skills training, mental health support, housing advice, and careers guidance. Under the plans, the hub will work with local partners including Working4U, Skills Development Scotland, and Scottish Action for Mental Health.

Figures published with the announcement show an investment of £2.5 billion to ensure all young people have the opportunity to earn or learn. Youth Hubs are planned for expansion to over 360 areas in Great Britain over the next three years. This initiative is backed by £90 million in funding for eight youth trailblazers. Every Youth Hub must meet minimum standards, which include on-site jobcentre support and mental health support.
