New Youth Hub opens in Telford Shopping Centre
Department for Work and Pensions has announced the opening of a Youth Hub in Telford Shopping Centre. The facility provides employment support and skills training for young people aged 16 to 24. It forms part of a wider government investment in youth employment.
Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed the launch of a new Youth Hub located in Telford Shopping Centre. The facility is designed to offer direct support to young people seeking work or further training. Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden stated: "This new Youth Hub marks a major step forward for young people in Telford, delivering real support and opportunity right here in the community."
The hub provides services including CV advice, skills training, mental health support, housing advice, and careers guidance. These services are specifically targeted at young people aged 16 to 24. The opening is part of a government investment of £2.5 billion in youth employment. Under the plans, the network is set to expand to over 360 local areas in Great Britain over three years.
Local partners are involved in the delivery of the service, including Telford College and Telford & Wrekin Council. Telford College also operates a Skills Shop that assists local businesses by training their workforce. The department has not stated specific start dates for individual training programmes or the number of places available at the Telford hub.
