Manchester Airport to add direct flights to Billund

Manchester Airport has announced a new direct route to Billund, Denmark, operated by Norwegian. The service is scheduled to launch on 1 April 2027, with departures from Terminal 2 on Thursdays and Sundays.

Manchester Airport has announced a new direct flight connection to Billund in Denmark. The route will be operated by the airline Norwegian and is set to launch on 1 April 2027. This addition makes Billund the seventh destination served by Norwegian from Manchester.

Flights will depart from Terminal 2 on Thursdays and Sundays. The journey is expected to take 1hr 35 mins. Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, said: "As the North's biggest and best airport, we're proud to connect people from across the region with a wide variety of destinations - many of which, including Billund, are not served by any other airport in our catchment area."

The announcement highlights that Terminal 2 features a dedicated Lego Store, described as the first of its kind in the UK outside London. Turner added: "For Lego afficionados, Manchester is already the airport of choice, thanks to our hugely popular Lego Store in T2 Departures - and you can now make that store the first stop on a Lego-themed mini break with a difference."

Historical context provided in the release includes the year 1932, when Lego was founded, and 1961, when Billund's airport was built.
