Invest NI to move North West office to Derry

Invest NI will relocate its North West Regional Office to Ebrington Plaza in Derry, the Northern Ireland Executive announced. The 300sqm Grade A space is expected to open in the New Year. The move follows the purchase of the former Timber Quay building by Ulster University.

The Northern Ireland Executive announced that Invest NI’s new North West Regional Office will be located in Derry’s Ebrington Plaza. The agency previously operated from Timber Quay in Derry~Londonderry since 2006. The relocation was necessitated by the purchase of the Timber Quay building by Ulster University.

The new office comprises a 300sqm Grade A space intended to drive economic development in the region. Facilities include a reception area, four meeting rooms, a 22-seat boardroom, and a 20-desk office space. Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald said: "This prestigious new office will ensure that Invest NI is more visible, accessible, and embedded in the local community."

Invest NI holds a 10-year lease for the premises, which is expected to officially open in the New Year. Figures published with the announcement show that the agency supported 263 projects in the North West last year. This activity resulted in over £80m of investment and over 400 new jobs.

Kieran Donoghue, CEO of Invest NI, stated that stimulating further economic development in the North West and across Northern Ireland is a key priority. He added that it is his hope that the office will be viewed as a representation of the organisation's commitment to regional balance.
