Buses to replace trains between Redhill and Tonbridge

Network Rail has announced that replacement buses will operate between Redhill and Tonbridge from 28 October to 1 November 2026. The change follows the detection of ground movement in the Godstone area. A speed restriction is currently in place.

Network Rail has confirmed that emergency works will replace train services with buses on the line between Redhill and Tonbridge. The intervention is required to stabilise the railway infrastructure and prevent further landslip. Nad Campbell, Project Manager for Network Rail, said: "We're sorry for the disruption and short notice."

The construction plan involves installing 208 sheet piles into a 126m stretch of embankment. Each pile measures 10m in length and will form a barrier to stop ground movement. Extra maintenance work on the tracks is also scheduled to help remove existing speed restrictions.

These changes affect all passengers travelling between Redhill and Tonbridge during the specified period. The car park at Redhill Station will be partially closed to accommodate the replacement bus services. Passengers are advised to check online before travelling and allow extra time.

The announcement does not state whether other routes or stations will be affected by these specific works.
